Just Flight and Black Square are proud to announce the next two additions to the Steam Gauge Overhaul fleet: the Analog Bonanza and the Analog Baron!

These aircraft build upon Black Square’s existing technology to bring a complete interior and systems overhaul to the default MSFS aircraft, including the most advanced fuel-injected piston engine and turbocharger simulations to date. Both aircraft will include normally aspirated and turbocharged versions, both with and without tip tanks, and hot-swapping radios. The turbocharged version of the Analog Baron will also represent the 58P, or 'P-Baron' pressurised model. Black Square’s failure system will keep you on your toes and provide you with two more of the most complex and realistic light aircraft for MSFS, built to the exacting standards of real-world pilots.

The Steam Gauge Overhaul series, which already includes the Analog Caravan and Analog King Air, goes far beyond a visual upgrade to the default MSFS aircraft. In fact, the only things that remain of the default aircraft are the exterior models and certain sounds. In addition to the suite of completely custom avionics already seen in the Black Square fleet, the Analog Bonanza and Analog Baron will also include the KNS-81 RNAV computer and the most complete EDM 760 and 800 engine monitors ever in Flight Simulator for accurate engine trend monitoring and leaning.

Other features include:

• Advanced reciprocating engine simulation with plug fouling, vapour lock, flooding and backfires
• The most realistic turbocharger simulation in Microsoft Flight Simulator to date
• Turbocharger-driven pressurisation and door seal systems for the 58P
• Optional tip tanks for the Analog Bonanza and winglets with tip tanks for the Analog Baron
• Fully compatible with: TDS GTNxi 750, PMS50 GTN 750 & Working Title GNS 530/430
• Completely interactable electrical systems with over 120 circuit breakers combined
• Engine limit excursions that decrease engine health and will eventually lead to failure
• Selective state saving for radio selection, radio frequency memory, failure settings, cabin aesthetics etc.
• Nearly 200 system failures, set via in-cockpit interface. Either random, based on settable MTBF, or schedulable with optional time acceleration.
• Over 850 normal and emergency checklist items between the two aircraft. If it’s in the checklist, it’s modelled and interactable in the aircraft!
• Custom-coded steam gauges with low pass filtering, needle bounce and physics to provide ultra-realistic and silky smooth animations like you’ve never seen before
• Mathematically accurate VOR & ADF signal attenuation and noise, and remote compass gyro slaving
• Cabin environmental control system for heating, air conditioning, ventilation and ram air cooling
• Crew/Passenger oxygen systems and carbon monoxide leaks and detection
• Improved aircraft performance and aerodynamics parameters
• Compatible with all existing livery mods for the default aircraft after an easy conversion process.
• Each aircraft comes with an approximately 100-page manual with technical details, specifications, checklists, tips, tutorials, and more

Put your skills to the test with some of the most complex study-level light aircraft for MSFS. Try flying IFR without a GPS, using the KNS-81, or master the intricacies of big-bore engine leaning and operation with the EDM engine trend monitor. Checklists and emergency procedures are also finally a necessity with the Black Square failure system.

Flying a real aircraft is as demanding as it is rewarding, and now your virtual flying can be too!

The latest issue of PC Pilot magazine (No. 144, March/April 2023) is now available and included in this new issue is a review of DC Designs' recently released AV-8B Harrier II add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

We're pleased to see that the reviewer enjoyed flying the legendary 'jump jet', with the aircraft getting a Classic Award with a score of 85/100!

Our lead artist has been busy with extensive upgrades to our Avro Vulcan B Mk. 2, K.2 and MRR, bringing it up to the very latest MSFS standards and taking advantage of everything which this modern simulator offers us. We're sure you'll agree that the results shown below are simply stunning, from the incredible model and texture detail now possible to the subtle fuselage surface reflections and imperfections - click on the images below to see the full-size 4k versions!

We’ve just begun the lengthy testing process, using a basic flight model and primary aircraft systems at this stage, so there’s plenty left to do, but we’re very excited by what has been achieved so far. We’re currently focused on the Fokker F28, RJ Professional and PA-38 Tomahawk but we’ll be sharing more news on the Vulcan in the coming months.

To all those who are wondering if the Vulcan will come to Xbox, the answer is "Yes, just as long as Microsoft are able to fix the current WASM issues!"
