Today seemed like an appropriate day to announce a forthcoming airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator which is currently in a relatively early stage of development by Bluebird Simulations; we're currently looking at having it on sale in the first half of 2023.

From Shervin Ahoo, head of the 757-200/300 development team:

"Forty years ago today the 757 first took to the skies, so we figured it would be a good to day to announce our first project for MSFS! Over the last several months we have been working hard on this project but there is still a long way to go. Our team consists of four dedicated members with decades of combined experience. This includes a programmer with over 20 years experience, two model designers and an airline pilot. In addition, we are very fortunate to have Just Flight behind this project. With our combined experience, we are committed to making this plane a great experience for all simmers."

The 757-200/300 will be an all-new MSFS-native aircraft which will take full advantage of the SDK to create a visually stunning and incredibly immersive simulation of the 757-200 and 300. The team are still in the early stages of aircraft systems development and therefore further details will follow, but the aim is to ensure they are accessible to simmers of all experience levels, with a significant jump in systems depth versus the MSFS airliners, providing an authentic 757 flight deck experience.

We'll be posting more information as progress is made, but in the meantime we thought you'd like a look at these very early 'work in progress' screenshots...

PC Pilot magazine has taken a look at our new Hawk T1/A Advanced Trainer for Microsoft Flight Simulator in the new issue (March/Apr 2022) and the development team's hard work on this aircraft has been rewarded with a score of 98/100 and the magazine's Platinum Award!

Here are a few of the reviewer's comments:

"The external modelling is sinply top notch"

"Its systems have been accurately recreated to an extraordinary level"

"The textures and modelling have surpassed the current quality levles we've come to expect since the release of MFS"

"I have enjoyed the challenge of getting to grips with this extremely realistic and immersive little aircraft because in my opinion it looks and 'feels' right, it has an inertia and flight performance that surpasses many current MFS aircraft"

See the Hawk T1/A Advanced Trainer page for full details of all the aircraft features and the PC Pilot website for all the information about the new issue.

FlightSim.com has posted a review of the recently released DC Designs F-14 A/B Tomcat package for Microsoft Flight Simulator and we're pleased to see that the reviewer found much to enjoy...

"The F-14 Tomcat is one of the most authentic jet aircraft that I've yet flown in MSFS"

"The external modelling of the F-14 is absolutely exquisite... The high level of quality continues into the cockpit"

"It's a step-up from similar fighter jet offerings that are found elsewhere for MSFS"

"Afterburner noise levels and effects can literally make or break the jet aircraft experience, and I'm happy to report that the Tomcat simply aces this category"

"The Tomcat thankfully flies very well and has a highly authentic feel to its handling"

"No noticeable effect on my sim's framerate and performance"

You can read the full review on the FlightSim.com website.

The DC Designs F-14 A/B Tomcat package for Microsoft Flight Simulator includes highly detailed and VR-ready A and B models in a total of seven paint schemes, with front and rear cockpit positions, authentic cockpit night lighting, custom sound sets for both variants and custom-coded manoeuvring flaps, slats and intake ramps.
