The next generation of our hugely popular VFR Real Scenery series of photographic scenery for the UK is coming soon for P3D and FSX!

VFR Real Scenery NexGen 3D uses the very latest 25cm and 50cm aerial images to provide a general 'in sim' texture resolution of 1.2m/pixel, which increases to 60cm/pixel around airports and specific points of interest, as well as a huge array of autogen objects to provide an immersive ‘3D’ feel. The combination of photographic scenery with accurately placed autogen objects gives a truly realistic representation of flying over the real world - and you'll get a performance boost as well!

As well as vegetation, houses and industrial buildings, the object library contains features such as wind turbines, lighthouses and churches, all placed where their real-world counterparts are located.

The default 76m mesh has been replaced with ultra-high-resolution 5m data for greatly improved terrain detail and the night lighting comes with custom textures to provide smooth dusk/dawn blending between day and night images.

Water masking techniques have been applied to all major and minor water areas, making them all 'landable' if you are flying a suitable aircraft.

Incorrectly placed default airports and runways have been manually corrected and the NexGen 3D scenery add-ons include a Scenery Manager utility which makes it easy to manage all aspects of the scenery program in your simulator. An Update Manager will ensure that you get the latest version of the software when we release new updates over time.

Four VFR Real Scenery NexGen 3D volumes will be available, with Volume 1 on sale first:

• Vol. 3: Northern England
• Vol. 4: Scotland

The new PA-28-181 Archer III from Just Flight's in-house development team is now on sale for FSX and P3D v1-v4.

Certified in the mid-1990s, the Archer III is one of the most recent PA-28 variants to be built, which is reflected in its streamlined cowling and cockpit overhead panel controls. Our new model is based on a privately owned aircraft and therefore differs from our Arrow and Warrior in that it has an impressive suite of modern avionics and less wear and tear.

The fully functional avionics suite in this study-sim level aircraft includes a GNS 530 (and Flight1 GTN 650/750 and GNS 430/530 integration) for GPS navigation, GNC 255 COM2/NAV2 radio with many features (including a frequency database), S-TEC autopilot with lateral and vertical modes, Traffic-Watch unit for monitoring the proximity of AI aircraft and a Strike Finder stormscope. The cockpit is also equipped with a HSI and ADF indicator, and is capable of cruising at 118 knots and with a range of nearly 500 miles, making it the perfect IFR tourer.

The Archer III comes in ten liveries from around the world and a flight computer panel and interactive checklists for every stage of flight are provided. The aircraft systems include custom-coded fuel and electrical systems, Refill menu and functioning carburettor and primer controls.

Our new Hawk T1/A Advanced Trainer for X-Plane 11 has only been available for a couple of weeks but two very complimentary reviews have already been posted online.

The X-Plane Reviews site has taken an in-depth look at all aspects of the aircraft and the reviewer certainly sounds impressed:

"The quality of the detailing is phenomenal... There is no doubt the Hawk stands out there in the quality stakes, the level here is extremely high... Aircraft modelling is absolutely first rate, perfection, not a 3D bump out of place... For now this is the best of the best current standard... Highly recommended."

The review at Tom's Cockpit is equally positive:

"I’ve tried, in the past, almost every fighter jet in X-Plane and I have to say that this is one of the most realistic and well done, if not the best... The Just Flight [systems] rendition is very realistic both from the graphical point of view and from the operative side... Canopy modelling and texturing is awesome... Sound system on this aircraft is just perfect and the most realistic one for fighters in X-Plane 11... I can state without fear that is one of the most interesting and realistic aircraft I’ve tried."
